Moulay Idriss until just recently has not permitted foreigners ie non-muslims to stay overnight in the town, nor has accommodation been available except for a hotel over the road from Volibulis which is 4.5 km from Moulay Idriss but has been closed for the past couple of years unfortunately. Since this lift and now permission granted for foreigners to stay permission has been given for locals to go into business to bring money and income into the town in what can otherwise be quite difficult. So several locals have converted rooms in their homes into a required standard in which tourists can have places to stay - private rooms with ensuite facilities - with the opportunity to meet the locals. This includes lovely Assia at her home which the family have gone to great lengths to provide comfort and enjoyable opportunity to have a place to stay not only convenient to the much recommended Roman City of Volibulis with its excellent mosaics but also meet the locals to whatever degree of opportunities available - learn Moroccan cooking, beautiful application of henna, language, the art of the hammam! Only 200 dirham per person (about 20 euro/£13) with breakfast included, other meals are available if required. by Doctor38 During my last day @ Moulay Idress, I saw a little 9 year old boy in front of Mouly Idress Mausoleum. He asked me if I wanted to rent a room and when I asked how much he said 50-70 DH in their house. I had no time to see the place and was planning to leave. I asked a local friend and he told me the price is right. He also told me that you can rent an apartment for 200/day. Moulay idress is a destination for Moroccan and people are used to renting out rooms to tourist during the moussem so you might want to explore that. Hang around Public place @ town centre and someone will offer you an accommodation. Sorry for not being more specific. Mouly Idress is a good base ro explore Volibilus and Meknes. It is only 20 minutes and 10 DH and you are in Meknes. Transportation is available 24hrs a day. People are friendlier; the city is more laid back and no hassle. You can walk to roman ruins or take a taxi. Theme: Other

I looked at this hotel but then decided to stay @ Diyar. The rooms are spacious and clean. No A/C so it might be a problem in the summer. It will cost you 200-300 per night depending on the size of the room. Some rooms come with private bathrooms some don't. As soon as you get to Bus station take the road up hill and after 10-15 meters, you’ll see a sign on the wall. Even if you don't see it, there is car park on the left and in it you'll see a Kasbah door. Walk through the door and turn right until you find the hotel to your left hand after 15 meters Theme: HotelPrice: US$20-40 » Currency ConverterComparison: about averageDirections: 33 Bab Kasbah Mobile 077991616, phone 035544354 ihesan2004@hotmail.com, Sehab@hotmail.com

This is a new hotel. I was one of the first people to stay in this hotel. The owners Hafiz and Mustapha own a hotel @ Midlet. They baught this building and convert it to a hotel as soon as the ban on non-Muslims was lifted. Diyar has 10 rooms and a resturant. Each room comes with a private bathroom. The hotel is clean, and smartly furnished. Each room has a TV and an Air conditioner. I visited in August but did need to use the A/C. A room for a single will cost you 160, double for 240 without breakfast. hot showers included When you get to the bus station you'll see the sign. If you don't want to ask the locals @ the bus station. it is 20 meters walk down the steps, then take the first left and you'll see the hotel on your left.
