This hotel was comfortable, clean, with new bathroom. We had a window into a quiet street. Per double room 190 DH, which is a great price.
This place was clean and our room had twin beds, one double one single plus a shower and hand basin. The toilet was shared with other rooms but was just across the hallway and spotless - not smelly either which is a great plus! At 187 dh per room per night this place was good value in the budget class. Rooms are basic and echoey, but large and seem relatively recently painted. The hotel's staircase was getting a paint job while we were there.
A nice touch was that the room had a balcony. In our case this was over the street, but the hotel has a pretty central courtyard and some rooms overlook that.
The hotel is on a street running off the main drag Ave Hassan V so it is centrally located in the Ville Nouvelle. It's only a 5 - 8 minute walk from the train station, although coming from the bus station in the south of town you'll need to catch a taxi.
Unique Quality: The only down side is the mattresses, which are rock hard and not factory made - mine sloped frighteningly down one side so I ended up clinging to the opposite side to avoid sliding out! That said, I actually had a surprisingly comfortable sleep here. Noise from outside was minimal even though you are right in the middle of the hustle and bustle of Ville Nouvelle.
Also, be prepared for a good long climb up the staircase. We were near the top of the building on the 3rd floor, with no lift. If you have any difficulties getting around then be sure to book ahead for a room on the ground floor.
Staff were nice, very polite and friendly in fact, and you are unlikely to be the only backpacker there. I saw a fair few people sitting out in the courtyard going through their Morocco guidebooks!
Directions: In the Ville Nouvelle, 5 minutes walk north along Ave Hassan V. Rue Ghazza is on the right hand side at the Kodak shop.
