Ive stayed at the hotel Tidene, opposite the night market on a couple of occassions now. The rooms start at 10,000 CFA for a single 15000 CFA for a double. The rooms are reasonably spacious and clean with decent showers, (copious amounts of hot water too)!
The staff make the place in my book....very friendly and on one occassion I was late for the bus to Niamey, ( this is at 6:00 am in the morning), the Guardien picks up my camera gear and off we stride to the depot about 1/2 mile away.....I think you can call that good service.
You may wish to book ahead as sometimes it does get busy with tourists arriving, generally staing a night before they head off for a package tour to the desert.
Being opposite to the night market there is always something going on, cross over the road and theres a decent array of food on offer being cooked on the open fires and griddles.
If you fancy a bit of a boogie to the African beats then the bar at the back of the nightmarket is ideal. Very dark mind you, takes a while to see how many people are actually in there.

But somewhere I read that about this hotel and one of the milion taxi bike drivers drove me here and I stayed here the whole time I stayed in Agadez.
It is not the most expensive ones,it is not the cheapest one, but sure it is ideal for independent travelers and has friendly staff of mix Tuareg and French personnel.
