L'hotel Jangorzo: Maradi - No Other Place to stay
This hotel is on the way to Airport as you enter the Maradi town. It has 130 rooms some of them are termed as suites has a television and satellite TV and A/Cs. I would term it as a below average room but these were the only ones available when we landed up there. There is a restaurant and Bar. A snack / breakfast may cost you 1000 CFA and Lunch or Dinner may cost you up to 5000 CFA. There is also an artisans shop, selling artefact within the hotel.

Hôtel Gaweye Sofitel: Hôtel Gaweye Sofitel
This hotel is situated in the main city area just overlooking the Niger River. This is a five star hotel with amenities like a swimming pool, tennis court, conference hall etc. The rooms are big and well decorated, it gives a feeling of eliteness. The staff at the hotel were helpful and pleasant. The food is good and room service fast. There is a Nightclub adjacent to the hotel.
Overall a pleasant expereience
Grand Hotel, Niamey: Grand Hotel Du Niger, Niamey
I stayed here during my first visit to Niamey. The hotel is one of the best available in the city, but expensive. I lived in a cottage outside the main building. It was spacious and clean. The room service although took a lot of time. The hotel has a poolside restaurant and gives you a good view of the Niger River. The dinner timings were till 10 Pm, so it was difficult for me to find something eat if I turned up late.
Overall a good hotel
Hotel Maourey: Niamey budget Hotel
The good thing about this Hotel is that it's fairly central. I found it through the lonely planet guide 'Africa on a shoestring'. Therefore it is basic, but in saying that the rooms do have air con, showers are adequate...although very shabby and there is a small restaurant which is open throughout the day. I stayed here for 5 nights although i wasn't alone as a small gecko had taken up residence in the shower room...quite entertaining really!
A big plus are the staff - very friendly indeed, if you need a lift to the bus station at silly o'clock in the morning then the night porter will for a reasonable fee, take you there on the back of his motto taxi....
Village Chinoise: Budget accommodation in Niamey
Lonely Planet Guidebook speaks of a shocking lack of budget accommodation in Niamey, but apparently isn't aware of the existence of the Village Chinoise Guesthouse!
It was excellent local advice after I found all budget and mid range guidebooks tips either full or not taking backpackers.
The rooms are basic and the bathroom (with not much water) is shared with one neighbour, but you will appreciate the airco, especially when you want to rest between the impossible-to-stay-outside-hours of the day. The double rooms with airco are about EUR 10/night while the fan version is only a little cheaper.
Also you might check out the Allemange-Niger Cooporation Resthouse, in Plateau area, that has a couple of excellent rooms with fan for EUR 8/night, but it’s often full. It’s located 50 meters beyond the AFVP-Resthouse, that doesn’t take ordinary travellers but was recommended in the old LP Africa on a Shoestring 9th edition (check out its map).
If you can spend $25-$40/night, you can check out popular hotels like Sahal, Terminus or Maoury. However you might want to make reservations in advance, since we found them all full when we arrived late in the evening (Hotel Sahal was friendly enough to invite us to sleep in their garden for free, including plenty of moskitoos).

-: Inexpensive Hotels
It`s easy to find some cheap accomodation in Niger, altough this hotels may not offer a standard known in europe ore elsewhere ;-) Better hotels are available in Niamey.
Hotel Sahel: Nice hotel in Niamey

Niamey: The Grand...
Niamey: The Grand Hotel
Agadez: The Tchin Toulouse
Tenere Desert: Hotel des Milles Etoiles
22,000 CFAF ($36)
The Grand Hotel has a great terrace overlooking the Niger River and great food. Nice people, too!
Spent most of the time...
Spent most of the time sleeping outdoors in the mountains and desert. For a change of pace (and a shower) the bed hotel in Iferouane run by Le Pilier is the best. Agadez is the city from which the desert tours start. Recommend Le Pilier for food and hotel, somewhat expensive but excellent -- you can even get italian gelato there.
I think in US dollars about $40 per night with breakfast.
It is beautifully decorated in Tuareg style. Iferouane has no electricity (as most of Niger) but the hotel has solar power. All comforts and great service and food.
