As we came close to the hotel there were gates around it and guards there with guns. The hotel had bars, discos and a casino. I didnīt go to them since I was very sleepy. One of our crew members was sick so we had to call the hotel doctor who diagnosed her with malaria which we found out was wrong once we got back to Saudi. I thought it was very unprofessional. We had to get prepared to fly back with her knowing she could be very ill and could maybe fall into coma so I was very unimpressed with theyr doctor. the room felt dirty I slept with my own sheets. I rodered breakfast in room service and it looked like someone puked the omelette onto my plate. Sorry but itīs true. We were not allowed of the grounds because itīs to dangerous so I just stayed in and relaxed and tanned in the garden. It was ok but I donīt want to go back there.
Living in Lagos, Nigeria ... there is not much entertainment. As a kid, we would go to Sheraton for afternoon tea and swimming. It is similar to getting a country club membership, we got a family swimming and tennis membership. We went there to swim every day after school and on weekends too. The food at the buffet is good for Nigerian standard. They also serve Nigerian food if you are curious and willing to try anything. Yam and chicken stew with okra. It is on the spicy side so if you are not up for spice stick with what you know.
I love the pool and tennis courts. At the pool side order Chapman ... it is a local drink or Bitter Lemon with lotsa ice!
My stay was very enjoyable and comforting. The service is good and facilities are really wonderful and beautiful too. I would recommend this hotel to those who really like good things. They take good care of the guests and make them feel like kings and queens.
They have nice rooms, nice pool, nice food, recreational and business facilities. The hotel offers a marvelous view of the city.
