Jamila Beach Hotel: Paradise
by pure chance I found Jamila Beach Resort.
It's approx 5 mins on a moto/taxi from Gesenyi town but is such a gem you really should check it out.
the Owner Jamila Mahood really looked after my girlfriend and I.
the food really is homemade and the rooms are of a very high standard ! (def designed by a woman)
It even has its own beach on Lake Kivu.
After the stress and strains of climbing mount Kirasimbi this was literally paradise. We were only meant to stay 2 nights but ended up staying 3
Unique Quality: The Bungalows are decorated to a high standard with hot running water and beautiful views of lake kivu.
the Food is homemade and very reasonable and the supply of Primus is never ending

Hotel Regina: Lake Kivu hideaway
This place set aside from the shore but very near the water is good value for money. the gardens are tranquil and the patio is regal for coffee or dining. The inner bar is like a set from a Casablanca excerpt and Madame the owner is as erudite as her title.
the rooms are spacious and could do with a buff but are clean. There en-suite and dorm rooms whichever fits your budget.
