 | Seychelles Reviews | Tips 1 - 10 of 79 | | On the beach at the western end of Gran Anse lies the Hotel Maison des Palmes, offering thatched-roof, bungalow-style accomodations. There is a charming restaurant that offers a grill on Wednesday and a Creole buffet on Saturday, both with live music. The food is very good and they give exceptional service although it is always a full house in the restaurant. There was when we were there anyway.
The hotel has a swimming pool, tennis courts and a pool table and offers windsurfing, canoe and boat excursions to the little off islands. Leave a Comment

We chose to stay here because it was very close to town and not as expensive as most of the larger hotels. We had one side a double bungalow with a nice patio, large bedroom, & a shower,. The grounds were nicely kept and we saw many birds there.
There was a large open air restaurant that served good food. There was no view but it was a short walk or ride to the beach or town. Leave a Comment

These are off the beaten path but well worth the drive. Beautiful self catering bungalows over looking the bay. Owner came by to welcome us on our first night there and invited us to be their guests for dinner.
There is a pool now but there wasn't when we stayed there. There are nice views over the bay. We watched the flying foxes leave of an evening and return the next morning. Close by is very good snorkeling and a convenience store. Good restaurant nearby also. Leave a Comment

Casa de Maestro has nicely furnished rooms, fan (no air con available!) and a tiny simming pool! Half board included! The food was surprisingly good, always prepared freshly and worth the price! It's not direct on the beach - just a street in between the beach and this guesthouse. A 3star hotel is within walking distance as well as small shops. We stayed there in June and would not advise to stay on this side of the island at that time of the year, as there were tons of seagras on the beaches due to the monsun! It did not really effect us, as we were sigtseeing the island most of the time anyway, but it would have been nice to be able to just let the day end on our "local" beach.
Nice guesthouse, good food! We were informed that a 4star hotel on their areal was planned at the time. This might have been finished by now, nearly 3 years later, so we are not sure, if the guesthouse still exists! The Augerine is located directly at the Beau Vallon Beach and is next to a 3* Hotel with its appropriate fascilities. This Hotel can be reached within 2 Min. walk - in fact the guesthouse is located on a part of their area - just with a fence and (fence door) in between.
Nicely furnished, well kept. Friendly staff. "Familiy atmosphere". Air Condition. Nice Garden with direct access to the beach !!!!!. Breakfast included. Very good value indeed! This is an appartement house with nice furnishing, the appartements consisting of one living room with open kitchen, 2 bed rooms and a bathroom. In fact it was too large for us, just being 2 people and it would certainly fit a family /friends of 4! The price stays the same. The house is situated right in the mountains of Mahe-Island. As a car is included within the rent, the price is really more than worth it (evenf if you are only 2 people)and makes this accommodation a perfect one for excursions on the island. We stayed there for 3 days.
In the mountains with lovely views, surrounded by 'jungle' and a car included, which is very handy for sightseeing on the island! The Plantation Club is possibly the top resort hotel in Mahe. The rooms are split-level with high celings and balconies with a beach view. They all have satellite TV. Facilities include a nice swimming pool, tennis courts, free water sports and a casino. It was built on what used to be a 180-acre coconut plantation and is in a fairly isolated location in the south-west of the island.
The Miss World contest was held here. Leave a Comment Theme: HotelPrice: US$180 and up » Currency ConverterComparison: more expensive than averageAddress: The Plantation Club, Baie Lazare, PO Box 437, Victoria, MahePhone: 386 868Directions: At Baie Lazare , on the south-west coast of Mahe.

Beuatifully situated on Beau Vallon Bay, this medium class hotel is very nice indeed. Everything you could wish for is available here, the rooms are comfortable and clean, the beach is on your doorstop, the bust stops right outside the gates and the staff are very friendly. Lots of activities laid on should yu wish, or you can just laze around the pool or beach each day.
There is a small raft anchored a little way off shore which you can swim to if you want some excercise. Lovely beach with direct access from the hotel. The only thing we found against the hotel was the café was full of drunk Russian soldiers at night! Leave a Comment

Booked the place via a travel agent in Norway after an initial internet search. Stayed our first 4 nights in the Seychelles here, and used the place as a base for exploring Mahe island, the capital Victoria and for lazying around the Beu Vallon area. It was very roomy and better standard and better equipped than the internet information gave the impression of. Very close to everything on Beu Vallon, and without the disadvantage of too close proximity to the larger hotels with their disco beat and floodlights.
Short stroll down to the Beau Vallon Beach for a morning dip in the ocean breakers. Roomy, very good quality bungalow with a verandah and garden spot. Kitchenette with the necessary facilities for self-catering. B&B possible for a little extra, we did not take the breakfast. Connected to a good Creole restaurant (same owners?) for a good lunch and dinner, the same place as for breakfast. The Baobab Pizzeria is right down on the beach. Service oriented and very nice staff. Connected to sightseeing and fishing operators, could organize just about everything certainly we would be interested in if we had stayed on Mahe (we moved on to La Digue). Coming in from Praslin on the last Cat Cocos of the day, we transferred to our prebooked Hotel Casuarina south of the airport. The next day we were set to leave the Seychelles... We wanted a hotel with easy access to the airport (10-15 minutes), with good standard and direct access to the beach for a last evening dip in the Indian Ocean. The room was well furnished to handle luggage repacking - spacious, floor space for the suitcase, shelves, a large wardrobe a good shower, air condition and a coffee corner. Outside was a fanned terrace. The service was impeccable. However, as tourism also here had seen a downturn and there weren't that many guests about apart form a large travel group (German/Italians). While the group had a set menu, the a la carte options were severely restricted due to limited food stocks in the kitchen. We settled for grilled fish that can never fail in the Seychelles. The next morning we had a fruit-focussed buffet breakfast and took off for the airport.
Large casual sitting/bar area under a roof near the open reception, very sociable set-up generally. A rustic bar seemed to have most types of local and international fuels. The beach is very, very nice, reef protected, and it was lit up at night just below the hotel, so night swimming was good on high tide, anyway. Sun chairs etc. were lined up for the hotel's guests and casual beach walkers. If going to the Seychelles again I would choose this hotel once more for a transit hotel if returning from or departing for the other islands. It's a perfect set-up, but without the mood of temporaryness.
