Accommodation on La Digue Island by Sunchild Fleur de Ly's, La Digue (Guest House). Very near of one of the beaches (approx. 50 m) and near the harbour (approx. 300 m) Located in a lovely garden. The bungalow consists of a living room with open kitchen, a very nice bed room and a bath room. All really nicely furnished. Approx. Eur 60,-/person/night - self catering plus air condition in the bed room (on request) which seemed to be very expensive in our opinion (as far as I remember approx. 10€ for half a day (evening/night). The rooms have a fan, though, which was not sufficiant for us, as it was really hot in the evening/night.
1. Fleur de Ly's - run by a British couple, very well kept, 4 bungalows in a beautiful garden. Self catering. Maid offers cooking, which is very advisable to ask for. To sit out on 'your terrace' in front of 'your bungalow' having an supurb 3 course creole meal, is absolutely great and very romantic and cheaper than in the restaurants (approx. EUR 13-15/Pers. for a 3 course meal)! The only con: We found the rate for the air condition was somewhat "naughty"! Inside the room by wadekorzan ...somewhere over $100 per night...but then again, it is difficult to find cheaper for the quality of this incredible place....
First of all, ANNIE. Annie, who works at the hotel, is the sweetest, kindest person and you will be made so welcome by her...then there is the fact that the room is furnished SO nicely--you feel so at home. The kitchen is great and we cooked alot of our own meals. The kitchen was big and had everything you could possibly need, and best of all, we ate on the balcony outside that had the most incredible view just over the beach, looking out on to Beau Vallon Bay... Beau Vallon Beach by shellseeker I can't really recommend you a particular place because I was guest of a local family. Payment is in major foreign currency only, preferrably Pound Sterling or US Dollars or Euro, of course... I paid 12 Pound Sterling for a night.
As always a stay with people from the country is a special experience. Other students who want to do their elective in the Seychelles can ask Ms Cerry (the secretary of the Victoria Hospital) to send you a list of several home-stay-possibilities. I've been at Le Lagon hotel on Praslin. It's really nice, small (only 10 double chambers), with quite good services.
It's quite simple, it lacks most of usual 'tourist facilities' like swimming pool (who needs a swimming pool when there's the most beautiful corner of the Indian Ocean?!). It's very easy to reach it, it's on the main road of Praslin. Theme: HotelComparison: about averageDirections: The hotel is on Praslin Island, at Grand Anse (west coast), right in front of the sea.

by DellyM Although not as classy as other hotels, we found the Reef Hotel to be basic but comfortable with friendly efficient staff. The buffet menu offered a wide choice of food and its beachside location was quiet and peaceful. The Seychelles deliberately keep the cost of holidays here on the expensive side and I can undestand why. They don't want to become a commercialised resort and spoil the natural beauty of the place with mass tourism. However, a visit here is worth every penny.
On the day of our wedding I had my hair done in the hotel's hairdressing salon. The staff went out of their way to style my hair to my exact wishes and made me feel like a queen! Theme: HotelComparison: about average
