Accommodation on La Digue Island by Sunchild Fleur de Ly's, La Digue (Guest House). Very near of one of the beaches (approx. 50 m) and near the harbour (approx. 300 m) Located in a lovely garden. The bungalow consists of a living room with open kitchen, a very nice bed room and a bath room. All really nicely furnished. Approx. Eur 60,-/person/night - self catering plus air condition in the bed room (on request) which seemed to be very expensive in our opinion (as far as I remember approx. 10€ for half a day (evening/night). The rooms have a fan, though, which was not sufficiant for us, as it was really hot in the evening/night.
1. Fleur de Ly's - run by a British couple, very well kept, 4 bungalows in a beautiful garden. Self catering. Maid offers cooking, which is very advisable to ask for. To sit out on 'your terrace' in front of 'your bungalow' having an supurb 3 course creole meal, is absolutely great and very romantic and cheaper than in the restaurants (approx. EUR 13-15/Pers. for a 3 course meal)! The only con: We found the rate for the air condition was somewhat "naughty"! Accommodation/Appartements by Sunchild This is an appartement house with nice furnishing, the appartements consisting of one living room with open kitchen, 2 bed rooms and a bathroom. In fact it was too large for us, just being 2 people and it would certainly fit a family /friends of 4! The price stays the same. The house is situated right in the mountains of Mahe-Island. As a car is included within the rent, the price is really more than worth it (evenf if you are only 2 people)and makes this accommodation a perfect one for excursions on the island. We stayed there for 3 days.
In the mountains with lovely views, surrounded by 'jungle' and a car included, which is very handy for sightseeing on the island! Beau Vallon Beach by Russ60 We stayed here for 3 nights towards the end of our holiday, Auberge was a fairly comfortable hotel in pleasant surroundings. We didnt spend much time around the pool as the beach at Beau Vallon was a better option.
This hotel is situated within beautiful tropical gardens at the end of the Beau Vallon Bay beach I think it has around 40 rooms. Theme: HotelComparison: about averageAddress: At the end of Beau Vallon Bay

La Reserve Hotel by Russ60 Although we didnt stay at this hotel we did spend time on the beach there and also on the terrace by the sea. This terrace is where Oliver Reed threw one of the film crew over when they were filming "Castaway". He ended up in all the UK papers and also in court. The location is fantastic right on the beach overlooking a coral reef. Theme: HotelAddress: Anse Petit Cour Praslin Seychelles

View looking down over Praslin Beach by Russ60 The accommadation was ok but it was a little basic when we were there, the only other complaint was the gaps under the doors invite in things you may not want.
A beautiful setting the hotel lies in amongst the palm trees a stones throw from a magnificent beach. The hotel has a pleasant pool area but most people go down to the beach

by Chiliweenie Fleur de Lys is a set of 4 stand alone bungalows set in a tropical garden. Each has a large bedroom with A/C, a living room and a nice roomy kitchen. Its really home away from home. I'd recommend this over any other place we saw.
Beautiful gardens, great varandas on each bungalow.

I'm writing this from the perspective that not all people enjoy 'herd hotels', the ones where there are over 50 rooms and every luxury imaginable. I prefer small boutique, non-institutional hotels. So read this with that in mind. If you want herd hotels, they exist. A SUPER little intimate hotel is 'La Fleur de Lys' , a collection of 4 bunglaows and very spacious ! For less than 125 Euros, you can get a large bed room, equipped kitch, sitting room and balcony over looking the garden. From my experience, the one thing you want in the Seychelles is a cool place to retreat after your beach adventures. If there is no breeze or A/C, a hot hotel room can become a prison, especailly at night. The beach is very close, 5 mins walk. Do your research well when booking a hotel, it can make or break your trip.
Tranquil rooms, garden views and a place to make coffee in the morns.

Beau Vallon Beach by shellseeker I can't really recommend you a particular place because I was guest of a local family. Payment is in major foreign currency only, preferrably Pound Sterling or US Dollars or Euro, of course... I paid 12 Pound Sterling for a night.
As always a stay with people from the country is a special experience. Other students who want to do their elective in the Seychelles can ask Ms Cerry (the secretary of the Victoria Hospital) to send you a list of several home-stay-possibilities.
