La Villa: Cheap self catering villa
We stayed in a self catering villa as it was during the peak season and all the hotel prices were quite expensive. Since we also wanted a quiet place with a more family-oriented atmosphere, we chose La Villa (on recommendation of an acquaintance).
First, let me state that La Villa is a self catering accommodation and is quite small but nevertheless cozy. As such, don't expect it to be on par with a big name hotel or you will be severely disappointed. If, however, luxury is not mandatory for you and you are equally at ease staying in a place that looks more like your home, La Villa is a great choice, and a very cheap one too!
They do have several kinds of rooms (couple, family, etc...) but I don't think there's much difference in the quality of these rooms. Amenities are kept to a minimum too although you do have Internet access at the reception, a car park, a laundry service, and a handful of other facilities.
Although La Villa is meant to be a self catering accommodation, they do have a bed and breakfast service too. You can choose which you want when you book your room, but you can also order your breakfast whenever you want. It is located a few minutes from the beach, but that's not a huge problem. The walk is amidst a splendid view and, this being Seychelles, you won't even notice the short trip to the beach every day.
I would strongly recommend La Villa but only if you keep the following in mind:
- you don't need a 5 star hotel that's unnecessarily expensive
- you don't need a buckload of amenities you will never use anyway
- you don't mind booking smaller rooms
And keep in mind that this small hotel is extremely cheap. If you are traveling on a budget and are not averse to a self catering villa, this is probably the best hotel you could use.
Great views on the lagoon (for the sea view bungalow) and cheap.
