My husband and I stayed at the Fisherman's Cove Hotel in February 2007 and had a fantastic time. The staff is wonderful at all levels -- many remembered our names even though we only stayed 3 nights. We really felt like everyone went out of their way to accommodate us. The front desk staff and the pool/recreation staff are especially helpful and friendly.
The beach was not in the best condition during our stay. Staff told us that during the summer time (including February), the sea is a little rougher on the west side of the island. We were told that in April and May, the beach is beautiful. It wasn't a big concern for us -- we simply walked 100 yards down the beach to swim where it was less rocky.
If you stay at the hotel on a Wednesday (in the afternoon) or the last Saturday of the month (starting at 6 PM), you can easily walk down Beau Vallon beach to the craft and food market set up just off the beach. Local food and crafts, t-shirts, etc. are sold at a reasonable price and it's great people watching. Bring some cold beer with you and walk around listening to the music and get to know the locals!
Overall, it was a fantastic experience!
Close proximity to local market and restaurants

My husband and I stayed two short nights at the Northolme in February 2007. Our experience was absolutely amazing. We thought the staff was fantastic and the rooms were incredibly roomy, with large decks overlooking Silhouette Island. The beach at the hotel is fairly small and rocky but the views more than make up for the lack of beach.
There is a small shop within walking distance (turn left out of the hotel drive) and the Boat House and Baobob Pizza are also a nice walk from the hotel.
This hotel has fabulous and large, private rooms in a villa setting. Some villas are single-level with one room per villa while others are two-story with a villa on each story. Both are very private and quiet with some of the largest hotel rooms I have seen, including suites at some of the chain hotels.

When figuring out the details for our accommodations in the Seychelles, I grew frustrated by high prices for hotels that weren't worth the price. I certainly expected to pay a bundle for a room in a country nearly 1,000 miles of the coast of any continent; however, I knew I could find a deal somewhere if I just put my mind to it.
Finally, I managed to book rooms for my husband and me at two of the nicer hotels for about half-price. We stayed at both the Hilton Northolme and Le Meridien Fisherman's Cove. Both hotels run about $600-700 U.S. per night.
To get the best deal at Le Meridien, open up a Starwood Preferred Guest credit card with American Express (U.S. and Canada residents only). You'll get a coupon that allows you to book a room at Starwood hotels for 1/2 price. The half-price is off the rack rate but it will still save you a least $200/night for your room. I think we ended up paying about $280/night for our 3-night stay at the hotel. You can stay up to five nights at a time with this offer.
To get the best deal at the Hilton Northolme, you'll really need to plan ahead. Rooms at the resort can be booked with 40,000 Hilton HHonors points. If you're not a Hilton HHonors member, you can sign up online and purchase 40,000 points per year outright. The points will cost you $.01 each. If you and a spouse both get HHonors accounts, you can each book a night with points and you'll end up paying $400 U.S. per night. Since we traveled in February, I bought points in December one year and again in January, one month later but in the new calendar year.
Of course, these prices are still high but compared to $275/night at the Coral Strand, we thought we got some pretty good deals.

Stayed at the Palm Beach Hotel in Grand Anse Praslin
Paid $200.00 per night bed and breakfast and was not worth the cost
Hotel room was OK requested a double bed which turned out to be 3 singles
Ceiling fan in room as well as air conditioned
No Shampoos or lotions in the room Soap was supplied
Towels were poor quality and no shower curtain so floor was wet and slippery
when used , but nice Bathtub if you wanted to lie back . Lots of ants in the bathroom
but being 20 yards from the beach probably only to be expected .
Balcony was nice with better chairs than one ones around the pool and faced west for
the Sunset .Pool towels were good TV only two channels mostly all in French
Food was expensive 5 euros for a portion of fries however the seafood was good
I recommend the smoked marlin for an appetiser
Lots of bones left in the fish
Staff were friendly
Beach not good for snorkelling but when tide went out good for fishing in the shallows
for bonefish and mullet
Fisherman stopped at the hotel with fresh catches every day including octopus
Good location 5 minutes walk into Grand Anse

This Hotel has perfect location - very long beach with another hotels and restorants, bus station, several shops (food, suvenirs). The staff is very usefull and nice.
U should now - on this beach - here is not deap ocean, not good for swimming.. (as for me - i like it!!).
This Hotel is amazing!!! There are only 8 rooms, facing ocean! The owner of this hotel is from france, he is about 70 y, very nice man! Magnificant beach is near the hotel...
Dinner - perfect.
I suugest to spend there about 3 days, it will be enough...
Met this cab guy and asked hime for a tip on a better place to stay. He recommended his place which he rents out oftenly. Located five minutes walk away from Beau Vallon beach he has an 2 bedroom appartment with all ammenities, tv, bathroom, AC, kitchen, fridge, cooker, pots, etc.
Self catering, 5 min. walk to beach and restaurants.
This hotel is nice and clean but far away from everything, it is in the north side of Mahe Island with excellent views to St. Anne Island? The breackfast is yummy and staff are friendly. A taxi to Victoria will cost about 100RP. and to Beau Vallon beach 150RP.. Better just hang closer to everything. There is only a Chinese restaurant closeby but the hotel has its own restaurant, prices can be higher.
beautiful views, its perfect if you want to go for long walks..
