Paodise Guesthouse: La Digue Classy New Accommodation
Our stay here was truly amazing!! It is our third visit to La Digue and we have found the best place to stay. Paodise guesthouse is newly built and high standard and is peaceful and private. There are just 2 rooms so this is not a big hotel, but the style of the house is excellent with large ensuite rooms and a massive verandah for the afternoons/ evenings. The rooms are cool and spacious, with aircon, safe, and very comfortable beds (a highlight!!). The house is cleaned daily and there is a water dispenser with natural mineral water that is filled by the staff from a local mountain water source. You can also pick fruit from the garden..how good is that?!
Unique Quality: The verandah and the outdoor shower and BBQ are great for enhancing the comfort and special nature of your stay. The view is towards the mountains and is fantastic in the afternoons. The kitchen is fully equipped for any self-catering and there is a large living room to relax in if you do not want to use the verandah.

Hotel L'Ocean: Gorgeous seaview
We stayed in room 1 in May 2010 for our honeymoon. The view from the balcony wasn't too bad as we still had the full view of the sunrise and a bit of sunset. I think this was the best room if you couldn't get the ones upstairs. The room was nicely decorated with shells, sand etc that gave you the beach feelings. The bathroom is clean, no tub though. The only thing that I would complain was the seal of the shower door should be fixed, as the water was leaking from the door and made the floor wet. There was no tv, but we didn't need one here.
We paid for the dinner plan and it really was a good idea as there weren't any restaurants nearby. The dinner was buffet style and the food was excellent! The dishes were different everyday and it was great to try out different things. The tables in the restaurant all had a glass covered box and you could see the shells, sand, and other decorations inside. Breakfast were the typical stuffs, not buffet style.
Unique Quality: We rented the bicycles from the hotel and went to different beaches. There was a beach close by if you don't want to bike. A lot of the beaches were deserted, especially those in the northeast (turn right from the hotel). The island in general was quiet compare to Praslin and Mahe.

La Diguoise: Excellence in Food and Accommodation
Some things just fall into your lap, with a little work. Searching online for a place to stay can certainly be a long drawn-out affair, but generally pays off big time. Such is the case here. Me and 2 other friends wanted to keep our daily budget for food and lodging at or below $100. This place offered 2 meals/day with the lodging for about $80/person. Of course, we really did not know what to expect, but we were blown away by this place. First, the owner is a French chef, but his wife, Elodie, will be the one who charms your socks off from the start.
Unique Quality: The rooms and beds are quite comfortable, have AC, a wonderful bathroom and a veranda where you will be served your breakfast and dinner. Speaking about the meals, they are simply to die for. The fresh fish or squid that is caught during the day will be whipped up into an elegant, scrumptious 5-course meal for you that evening. We had not one bad dish the 5 nights we stayed. The coffee and lemongrass tea, pulled straight from their garden, were some of the best I have had. Altogether an amazing memory.

Ladoureur Guesthouse: Very nice guesthouse
Florine and Pierre LADOUREUR run this small guesthouse on La Digue Island.
Staying there is not like being in a hotel but staying as part of the family. You will join the family for dinner and you will like the taste for sure.
I recommend to rent a bike and leave towards the beach after breakfast and return in the late afternoon.
The guesthouse is located in the middle of the island so it is a 5 minutes ride with the bike to the beach but I did not miss the beachview as the tropical forest offers a nice view too.
If you want to make a reservation, just call Florine and ask for a quote. If you want to have a private bathroom, let her know as she offer several types of rooms.
Unique Quality: Very reasonable price for a clean room and good food.
