This is a reasonably piced (for Seychelles!) hotel, next to the gorgeous Beau Vallon beach. We stayed in a Superior room, which had both bath and shower, twin basins, a very comfortable bed and satellite TV. A daily $2 tip for the maid provided us with fresh flowers and fruit!
The pool is reasonable, with a nearby bar - be prepared to wait for service, as the Seychellois are particularly relaxed about speed of service! The beach has a wide range of sports facilities and is perfect for swimming (although note that this is forbidden after dark). What we found really good was the wide variety of restaurants - there's quite a few in the hotel, providing Creole buffets, Chinese, Italian and Japanese menus. The Teppanyaki counter was really good value, with the likeable chef producing some great meals.
Breakfast is buffet-style, with sausages, bacon, eggs and omelettes cooked to order; a range of continental cereals, yoghurts and breads are available too. Make sure you try the starfruit jam!

The Berjaya sits right in the middle of one of Mahe's best beaches, Beau Vallon. In terms of restaurants, nightlife, things to do at the beach, it would be hard to beat. This is not a 5 star hotel though. I would say maybe 3 out of 5. It's one of the oldest on the beach, rooms are standard, food is acceptable. If you are looking for a hotel on a great beach and still be close to some great restaurants such as Boathouse, The black pearl, the Meridian hotel, al Mare then this is a good choice. There are many tourists, however, it is never crowded on this beach. There are three restaurants, a pizzaria, chinese cuisine and hotel buffet dinner. The hotel buffet will cost 480 rupees, the chinese and pizzaria will cost from 85SR to 400SR. The standard rooms have a small refrigerator, TV with 12 channels, wireless internet only for 100SR/ hour or 500SR/ day. No microwave. There is a gym, but it is not very well kept and half of the equipment is missing or not working. The grounds are well kept, beautiful plants. There is a pen with the seychelle Tortoises. A nice pool. There is a dive shop on site that is incredible. Highly recommend them, very professional. Great snorkelling in front of the Meridian next door to the left. Don't miss the "ghost dance" once a week in the lobby.

Too often we get comfortable in the hotel we are staying at and do not venture out to the hotels in the vicinity to see what is on offer. You will be welcomed warmly as you venture out to see what live music is on offer at the different hotels.
A favourite friday evening pastime for me is to have a sundowner at Coral Strand and enjoy live music from 8pm. From there we head to the Fisherman's Cove, at about 9pm their live entertainment begins at the bar. This is the coolest place to be, get comfortable on their couches, order an 11 Euro cocktail and enjoy the most amazing live entertainment. After that it's off to party with the locals. At the Berjaya Beau Vallon there is a disco with live band every Friday evening, this is a favourite with the locals.

I'm planning on visiting the island of Seychelles in the next couple of weeks. I'd like to know how is the Berjaya Beau Vallon Bay Beach Resort & Casino? , I have looked at the website but it only has a handful of pics. What places or sites do i need to visit in Seychelles? How is the weather during Oct-Nov. Thanks for the help...

Hi, my trip to Seychelles was (unfortunately) many years ago, so any info about hotels would be outdated... apart that out trip was mainly using independent small hotels and more focused in nature and hiking than on beaches
However, I'd highly recommend anyone visiting Seychelles not to miss La Digue island. A wonderful place to relax for at least a couple of days (we stayed at La Digue the last days of our trip and regretted not having more time there)
