The hotel is situated in Kakamas, about a 30 minute drive from the falls. Very comfortable, good food and service and very reasonably priced.
At the falls they have a number of bungalow's or chalets that you can rent. We were not able to get one, but they seemed to be very comfortable with aircon and most things one requires. there is no shop, so take all your food before you enter the camp.
In the Augrabies Falls National Park, the family cottage has 2 bedrooms and a bathroom that can be accessed from each room. In high summer heat (which gets above 40 degrees Celcius) the aircon is very welcome. The kitchen is equipped with the essentials, although there is a restaurant which serves very institutional food. Other types of accommodation are available including camping. Swimming pools are scattered all over the resort - fantastic! You can hike (take water), just look at the falls, see wildlife, white water raft, mountain bike and shop for curios.
The highlights for me are the wildlife we saw (rock hyrax/dassies, baboons, lizards) with the rumbling falls as the backdrop, and the swimming pool: in the morning after a walk, before lunch, again after lunch, mid afternoon, and again in the evening.
