Mount Cedar: Get away from it all

A small collection of cottages, the best ones being the 4 stone built ones on the other side of the road from reception. You can hire canoes (though you can't go very far in summer!) or take their horses for a trek.
Simple meals provided in the restaurant, and there's also a small shop for essential supplies like beer, wine and icecream.
The nicest cabin, which we took, is called Klipbokkop, and is perched at the top of a long track, looking down over the valley. Sleeps six, with three bathrooms, a huge deck with table and comfy chairs (and visited by desert mice and geckos at night) and a jacuzzi.
If you're the only people who've opted for dinner, then it's brought to you in a 4x4 every evening. Wonderful strawberries from the hostess' garden in the middle of the wilderness.
