These beautiful little flowers are all over SA during autumn. Everywhere you go next to roads in the fields you will find it. Some years they are more impressive than others.
They come in a light pink, dark pink and white. My husband drove passed the nice ones before I could stop him so the picture is not as impressive as they are in real life.
Clarens

I have heard so much about this place, that it was about the only one I had on my itenerary for this past holiday to visit. Currently I am rediscovering my own country and want to share it with the rest of the world. Clarens is situated in the Clarens Valley is in the Eastern Free State Highlands about 20 km's from Golden Gate, 40 km’s from Bethlehem and on the Northernmost point of Lesotho. Clarens is known for its spectacular sandstone mountains and wonderful climate, it is one of the most picturesque spots in South Africa and has recently been acclaimed as having some of the best Trout Fishing waters in South Africa. Clarens is also spectacular horse riding country, a secret that seems to be well kept
You may wonder how the name of “Clarens” came into being: President Paul Kruger spent his last days as a voluntary exile in the attractive village of Clarens in Switzerland and Clarens was thus a very apt name for this mountainous village in the Eastern Free State.

"What a surprise"
I have heard many a folk talk of Clarens. Never in my wildest dreams did I picture such a wonderfully quaint village full of interesting buildings that beckon to you to come in and explore their inner beauty. They range from various interesting shops, museums, art galleries and restaurants of which there are a few and all well worth trying as they all have their own unique setting, ambience and wonderful food.
An oasis of art and craft ~ Clarens

Clarens – this is an interesting little town, especially if you are artistically inclined. It has several galleries, studios and art & craft shops. I really enjoy it here!
It is close to Wynford Farm – we have been here twice, it is family-run and has a variety of facilities and accommodation on offer, from converted stables to stone rondavels.
They offer horseback riding, putt putt/mini golf, tennis and many more things, aside from the guided hiking tours they do into the surrounding mountains.
