Where in Joburg can I buy Super 14 shirts - does anybody stock shirts for all the teams? I'm after the Crusaders & the Hurricanes. Yeah, I know they're kiwi teams.......

If I were looking for a Super 14 Rugby shirt I'd try accessing one from the website of the team I was supporting (not that I support any particular team). That way I'd know I was shelling out for the real thing. They're bound to have stores at the venue (OK, the cricket at St George's Park, Port Elizabeth has a store for EP cricket).

As mentioned in the tip above, when growing up we played outside a lot.
There was more attention on you occupying yourself, than being entertained (which many kids are nowadays, with plaustation, DVDs etc.).
Anything to do with the pool, sand and grass was good enough for the afternoon :)
My little niece in the photo also loves the outdoors.. playing in her little sandpit, and pool next to it.
Due to the weather being so outside-friendly, the lifestyle in South Africa is generally a lot more outside-orientated.
Braais (BBQs) and pool parties are the order of the day :)

Squires is a franchise steakhouse which offers consistent, reasonably good quality.
The atmosphere was pleasant and the rugby game that was being played was being screened outside. I opted, on an autumn evening, to sit indoors out of the night chill.
The menu is predictable with salads and various meat dishes and has some “gourmet” steaks. There is a vegetarian platter which my escort chose. I had the Supreme Steak which has the steak sliced open and mushrooms and bacon inserted inside. I asked for it medium rare and it arrived somewhat more medium than rare. The vegetarian platter contained, inter alia, tinned asparagus served warm. Ugh! The rest looked ok.
The service was both friendly and efficient and I felt well attended but not smothered.
The pricing of Squires is at the high end of “average”. I enjoy steaks.
