I was in and out of this hotel a number of times and felt very safe. The staff remembered me everytime and were great. The hotel offers free internet. It is attached to a mall, as well as a rooftop craft market.

The Hilton Hotel in Sandton (Rivonia Road), The Holiday Inn Crown Plaza (Rivonia Road), The MichaelAngelo (Sandton Square), The Grace Hotel (Rosebank), The Hyatt Hotel (Rosebank), Sun City Lost Palace or Cascades (Pilansberg) All very expensive (but probably quite reasonable if paying in foreign currency like pounds or dollars), but all excellent and of high international standard. No dodgyness here!

I was wondering if anyone can tell me what the best hotel to stay at in Joburg is? I'd like somewhere central to shopping and tourist activities. Its my first trip to Joburg so I dont mind spending money on the hotel.

Michelangelo Sandton Square or the Sandton Sun Towers would be your best for shopping experience. After that look at The Westcliff Hotel, not linked to a shopping mall but wll shuttle you from Mall to Mall. Also look at The Grace Hotel in Rosebank or The Hyatt in Rosebank both hotels link to Rosebak Mall.

As mentioned above, there are many stunning hotels in Jphannesburg. A Sandton one would probably be your best bet. I have been to a few of these hotels and The Michelangelo blew my socks off. Brilliant.

Based on your similar needs for a top hotel in CT sounds like you should also be looking at doing the Blue Train or Rovos Rail. Although for a cheaper option look at the newly launched Premier Classe
