The staff, while charmingly friendly, vary from being highly efficient to clueless and pretty much everything in between. Never a dull moment.
The room is - bluntly - extremely bland and poorly lit. Trying to work at the desk in the evening was difficult. The shower in the bathroom is powerful but regularly switches instantaneously to freezing cold then, a second later, to scalding hot. This really shouldn't happen in a four-star hotel! The room has tea and coffee with a kettle, but no minibar.
There are restaurants (including one Chinese) and two bars, one a Sports Bar with internet terminals. There is a wireless hotspot in the lobby but the broadband connection didn't work in several rooms.
The hotel has a very small circular pool set in a tiny courtyard. This courtyard is quite pleasant during much of the day, but it does have a habit of catching the winds which can get strong enough to blow the huge umbrellas over.
The hotel is within easy and safe walking distance of the Rosebank Mall - and a little further to The Galleria Mall.
