Laptop Repair
by ardelean
Laptop repairs are difficult. No one want to touch laptops. there is the Notebook company on the corner of Duncan St. and Pretorius in Hatfield. they take two weeks minimum. If you can do without your laptop for two weeks, you don't need a lap top. Then there is Jimmy in Centurion. Phone number 012-654-9633. He is quick, good, and hugely expensive (US$80/hour), but cheaper than buying a new laptop.
Sun City
by Taffster
Sun City is like something out of your dreams.
Hidden away in the mountains, Sun City boasts its own man made beach (including a water park ) which matches those of the Caribbean, 4 hotel complexes, a huge lake, various casinos and much much more!
This was such a fun day with plenty of opportunities and a never ending list of things to do.
I spent the day at the Valley of the Waves (man made beach) and in the water park, and made my way down to the lake in the Cabanas complex to sport a bit of jet skiing. Total adrenaline rush in absolute perfect natural beauty.
Very expensive average food
by PierreZA about Piatto Mediterranean Kitchen - Centurion
A very big restaurant. The food is very average and expensive.
The menu looks great, as does all the pictures of the food (which is not on the menu).
The last time I went there (April 2008) the food was actually bad, especially the veggies.
It seems that it has closed down - I am not surprised No real favourite
Voortrekker Monument
by Deefstes
The Voortrekker Monument is a 40 cubic meter building commemorating the Voortrekkers of old who trekked over the Drakensberg mountain range from the Cape to ultimately settle in this part of the country.
Unfortunately this part of Afrikaner heritage seems to be neglected and even surpressed as a pride in Afrikaner heritage can often be misconstrued as being "old regime" but I strongly disagree with that notion.
I am an Afrikaner and very proud of it. At the same time I am anything but a racist and I deeply believe in the restoration of South Africa through racial tollerance and uniting of peoples. The Afrikaner history is quite an interesting one and very remarkable. I am proud to have that heritage and the Voortrekker Monument symbolises that for me.
Paul Kruger Street Synagogue

pity this historic building is not maintained and falling apart
behind razor and barbed wire;
it it deteriorates any further, it may be nigh impossible to restore!
where is the monuments commission?
