Casa do Sol

The Casa do Sol is a very nice upscale hotel located about 5 km west of Hazyview. It is built along the lines of a Mediterranean town or monastery, with stucco walls, tiled roofs, cobblestone alleyways and columned walkways. The rooms were large, with comfortable king-sized beds and plenty of room to sit and relax. Our bathroom was large and modern, with a separate shower and bathtub. Our room also had its own outdoor patio, with a table and chairs.

The hotel's common areas are very nice, with beautiful landscaping throughout. There is an outdoor swimming pool, two bars (one by the pool), a comfortable indoor lounge room, and an outdoor patio area. The hotel has a goo restaurant (breakfast and dinner were included in our room rate). The breakfast selection had plenty of hot and cold selections. Dinner was done as a buffet on nights when the hotel was full and a la carter with menus on nights when it was less crowded. We had both and they were both good.

The staff was very friendly, especially the waiters and bartenders. We also had a chance to meet the manager, who was also friendly.

Our only complaint about the the hotel was that the internet wifi only covered part of the hotel. However, this is supposed to be remedied by the end of the year, with coverage being expanded to cover the entire hotel grounds.
