LONG STREET LODGE NC: BASIC BED & PARKING WITH SHOPPING - KIMBERLEY

by DAO

I found this place after driving around Kimberly looking at beautiful places I could not afford. Then I saw this place. It was beautiful because I could afford it. And it had parking for my car. For less than $30 (up to 3 adults) you get a clean basic room with air-conditioning, a cold fridge, TV, reasonable bathroom and security. You also get a good night's sleep. My bed (one of 3) was comfortable and the place was quiet.

The location is actually good. It's on a main road. You also are 5 minutes walk or less from a large grocery store, loads of fast food, other small shops and my 2 favorites. A Biltong shop and a liquor store.

Located on the N8, there are plenty of places to get petrol, drinks, food and get going in the morning.

For the price, it's not a bad deal.

Hotel FORMULA Inn, Pretoria South Africa: My Travel Accomodations

by kharmencita

I traveled with a friend and our first overnight was in this Hotel FORMULA Inn in the heart of Pretoria South Africa.

It is an affordable accomodation Hotel. It is a chain of economic hotels which can be found all over the world intended for those who travels with small money budget. We slept just an overnight with buffet breakfast inclusive. The facilities arte very simple and mostly with double decks in We have had this kind of Bathroom like Capsules just integrated inside the room. Toilet, wash basin and shower is in here too. The place is well cleaned and orderly. Important is that the staffs are helpful and friendly.

For budget tourists it is good enough!

www.safarinow.com accommodation website: An excellent online accommodation booking site

by CatherineReichardt

On a recommendation from Gerald_D, I have recently started using www.safarinow.com for my own business and travel accommodation bookings, and - fingers crossed - I have yet to be disappointed.

There are many web-based accommodation sites, and as I haven't tried them all, I can't say for sure that this is the absolute best. However, I can say that it's the best that I've used thus far, both in terms of the wide range of accommodation on offer and their speed, efficiency and courtesy of response.

The site is mostly focused on South Africa, but does offer some accommodation in neighbouring Southern African countries: I have just used it successfully to book accommodation for our forthcoming Lesotho trip, for example.

Kuthaba Bush Lodge: Bushveld Living

by HispanicYob

It's hard to classify this place. Definitely not a hotel or a hostel, the closest thing I can come up with from research is a campground. Before I left home for South Africa, I tried researching this place as best as I could. This place is mainly used for wedding venues. I was invited out here for just this occasion. I saw photos from different sites so I knew what to expect. When I got there I was amazed at how incredible this place was. It's a vast area with impalas running around it's grounds and tons of bird and other wildlife around the area. There are different types and sizes of accomdations, in the form of tradional chalets with thatched roofs. The chalets are equipped with sinks, shower, toilet and kitchenettes. I had a nice comfortable bed to sleep on and the accomadations were really clean. When I left, I remember giving my South African friend the checkout rate, which I remember as being around 500 rand, that equals about 80 USD for a total of a weekend stay. I'll never forget my stay here. A good alternate to traditional hotel/hostel accomadation. I highly recommend Kuthaba if you're traveling with a group, getting married and wanting a South African venue or just to experience the bushveld.

My stay in the chalet was nice and relaxed. Polished stone floors and a thached roof definitely give this place a serengeti feel, even though it's in the bushveld. There was a watering hole in the back area of my chalet that had paths around it. It provided a nice, relaxing walk and a moment of reflection. I still couldn't believe I had set foot here. I never thought!

Chelsea Villa Guesthouse: City break

by Gili_S

In between safari, sea and mountains we stay for a night in Durban in a very nice place called Chelsea Villa Guesthouse. The place was nice and clean as well as very peaceful. Important was that we had a safe place where to park our car and in the evening we could just walk couple of minutes up the hill to an area with few nice restaurants and bars.
I should also mention Neville, the very friendly owner as well as the friendly staff.

Kruger National Park Camping sites: Camping sites

by Gili_S

There are many good camping sites in Kruger National Park. The facilities are at good standards, shopping available to buy food, guides and souvenirs.
Among the parks are Crocodile Bridge, Lower Sabie, Olifants, Orpen, Satara and many others.
Please be aware that you need to reserve and book in advance otherwise it might be fully booked.

Royal Kruger Lodge: Private Lodge by the south of Kruger Park

by Gili_S

This nice place was good for a stop over on our way to Swaziland.
It is in the southern part of the Kruger park, just outside the Crocodile Bridge Gate. A very nice private own lodge with excellent facilities, swimming pool and interesting outside shower if you feel like wash in the nature :)
The managers were very friendly person taking care of all your needs.
