Seek out ranger Fred Smith!

My wife and I had the wonderful opportunity to spend three days at the Sabi Sabi Bush Lodge last week (August 7th - 10th, 2011). We found the lodge to be comfortable, clean, and charming. The dining areas were great, the bar/fireplace area cozy, and the views from the back terrace spectacular (elephants, water buffalo, wart hogs, impala all routinely stop by for a drink from the pond). The cuisine/chef was exquisite and the staff was friendly and attentive. Over the course of three days we went on six game drives with ranger Fred Smith and his side-kick tracker, Jack. They were a great tandem! Fred's knowledge of the animals and plant-life was DEEP and Jack didn't miss a single movement! They made the game drives educational, fun, adventurous, and safe. In addition to the scores of animals we got to see, Fred and Jack wouldn't rest until we witnessed the Big 5 (the lions ended up cooperating). It was a terrific experience - once in a lifetime, really - and Fred and Jack delivered the goods!
