Botlierskop by PEE-WEE Situated at the foothills of the Outeniqua Mountains, Botlierskop offers a great diversity of wildlife in a beautiful setting. The animals roam freely amongst the luxurious tented suites on the riverbank. Set in the midst of a bird sanctuary, the secluded tents have en-suite bathrooms, mini bar, telephone, private deck and personal ranger service. The Fire Place serves true South African cuisine with a modern twist.
Three-hour guided game-drives or quad biking offer close encounters with rhino, lion, buffalo, giraffe, mountain zebra, eland, rare black impala, and more than 20 other antelope species. For the nature connoisseur there are also nature walks. Botlierskop is ideal for a break away, special functions and theme evenings. This is great idea. There is an old train on the beach, it runs parallel with it. This is a hostel, the rooms are simple, but clean, aswell as the bathrooms. There is a kitchen, and bar b que areas that are almost on the beach. Well worth a visit!
sun rise, sunset, nothing like sitting in your cabin (thats what it is its an old train), out in to the ocean while the sun is coming up and down! Plus when i was there, the staff was good friends with the cage dive company. The companies owner was actually nicknamed great white (how jaws), because of his captain birdeye look, me thinks! The Little Brak River Motel -- looks familiar! by DesertRat While looking for a place to stay that was near Botlierskop Game Reserve, I noticed one noted down on a map in my Western Cape MapStudio Travel Atlas. After tracking down the phone number, I called and booked in. When we got there, we discovered what is the closest to an old-fashioned US-style motel we've ever found outside North America. It's built on one level, there's parking right outside the room, and the rooms themselves were of a similar sort of standard. Quite typically, the people running the place were very helpful and very welcoming. I wasn't altogether sure how far the game reserve was, so they put us straight on that one, too.
This was the first motel we've ever come across where they had barbeques -- South Africans call them braais -- set up in a grassy courtyard for the use of guests. There were picnic tables as well.
