Dias Museum
by didgeridorien
This museum stands at the spot where Dias first met the locals. It has a lot of information on the local history, maritime and an aquarium. In the big gardens around it stands the Old Post Office Tree, where people used to place their mail in an old shoe for it to be collected. You can spend a good couple of hours in the museum.
Mossel Bay - Start of the Garden Route
by kentishgirl
From Cape Town we headed along the coast to Mossel Bay. This is a small town, popular, but quite often missed as people prefer to head on straight to Knysna.
Mossel Bay was home for 2 days, we chilled out there, waking around the small quiet streets and eating in a fab cafe we found.
Personally, I liked Mossel Bay, but it was very quiet for the time of year we were there and there really isn't much to see - if I went back to South Africa I probably wouldn't stay here again.
If however, you want to get away from the crowds - this may be the place for you.
