Hey! A real motel!

While looking for a place to stay that was near Botlierskop Game Reserve, I noticed one noted down on a map in my Western Cape MapStudio Travel Atlas. After tracking down the phone number, I called and booked in.

When we got there, we discovered what is the closest to an old-fashioned US-style motel we've ever found outside North America. It's built on one level, there's parking right outside the room, and the rooms themselves were of a similar sort of standard.

Quite typically, the people running the place were very helpful and very welcoming. I wasn't altogether sure how far the game reserve was, so they put us straight on that one, too.

Unique Quality: This was the first motel we've ever come across where they had barbeques -- South Africans call them braais -- set up in a grassy courtyard for the use of guests. There were picnic tables as well.
