Mossel bay lies just off the N2 Between cape town and Port Elizabeth on the Garden Route.( you can say its the half way stop)
George Airport is 40 km from Mossel bay.
Cape Town is 390 km from Mossel Bay so its an ideal place to stop over if you like to be in a city.

Port Elizabeth is approx 400 km
Roads to Mossel bay are excellent and quickest route is via N2.

If you want to explore the history of Mossel Bay you can visit some of the many museums in the city.
