Keurbooms Lagoon
Good place to wipe the sleep out
To get to the lagoon you drive as if you are driving out of town, once you have gone over the hilltop and seen the view you can pretty much find your way there.
There is a car park, and a small cafe at the end of the beach where you can buy drinks, ice creams and small lunches.
The lagoons waters are shallow and clear - hence why the place was packed with kids when we were here, the sand is clean and in general it is a very nice place to hang out.
It is a while since we went to Stanley Island and I beleive it is up for sale so I am not sure if it is still open for guests. If it is you really shouldnt miss it. The island is in the middle of the Keurbooms river and is accesible by its own ferry. There is accomodation for every one from camping, dorm to luxury rooms. The food from the restaurant is amazing and Barbara and her husband will really look after you.
This is the jetty that you arrive at when the ferry takes you across the river to the island.
