Garden Route Tips please
by johnaalex
In March 2006 we will be spending two weeks in SA and aprt from a couple of nights most of that time will be spent along the Garden Route.
I expect will we only at stay at two or three hotels and we do like our luxury so any tips on which hotels we should stay at would be useful.
With regard to sight seeing we do want to visit at least one wild life reserve and if possible see some whales and dolphins in the wild (although I think March is not the best time for this).
Regards
John

A good place to go to obtain a good idea of the hotels on the Garden Route is to look at the brochures for the more upmarket travel companies - Kuoni, Bales, et al. Ideally you should look at the companies which cater for tailor-made holidays.

If you are looking for luxury try Beacon isle hotel in Plettenberg Bay. http://cape.hotelguide.co.za/Moderately_Priced_Hotels-travel/cape-hotel-beacon-island-hotel.html Weather in the Cape is generally nice in March. Not so hot and before the winter rain. I have some info on Knysna, George, Mossel Bay etc on my travel pages. There are also many other travel pages on these areas if you want to have a look at what to do.
