The golf course remains a popular destination for tourists. the main attraction being the challenging layout built to USGA specifications and is rated in the TOP 50 in South Africa. Set in a nature reserve, lots of bird life and small animals like antelope and bush pig, etc. The site has also become popular with the local bird-watching club and is home to a large colourful bird known as the Knysna Loerie
Visited Plettenberg Bay for a quick look around the town before heading off to Monkeyland to see the primates, which is 16km from Plettenberg Bay. Here you can do a guided tour for around 110 rand per adult and watch the primates in the rain forest as they swing past your head! Great thing to do as you can get very close to them, but watch your food at the restaurant as they tend to try and steal it!! Open from 8am - 5pm every day.
We also decided to take a 2 hour game safari drive at "Rhino Base Camp" which is based 15 mins from Plettenberg Bay. Adults are charged 230 rand for the tour by landrover, but you can also go by horse for a slightly higher fee.
You can see 4 of the Big 5 at the reserve with over 26 types of animal to see and numerous birds too.
