Like a lot of other South African cities and towns, town centres have been neglected and are not a good place to go unless you have to. The Edward Hotel is a nostalgic hotel with a grand dining room and a wooden elevator from the 1920's . The views from the first floor balconies are pretty good and the rooms are OK. Staff is nice and attentive. It's got everything going for it except the location.

The Protea Hotel Edward is one of Port Elizabeth`s famous landmarks and definitely part of the city`s heritage - situated at the top of the Donkin Reserve, in the historical quarter of the city.
It offers all amenities a great hotel group such as Protea Hotels offers its guests.
