Children's swimwear

by Meraai

Hi, I'm looking for children's swimwear. On holiday in Jeffreys Bay at present but can't find anything below R395 - all of them are surfer brand names. Department stores have NOTHING as they have started to unpack their winter range. Please suggest some stores in PE that might be able to help - the kids want to swim desperately and have nothing to wear!

You could try Pick N Pay in PE. I haven't shopped there but have in Jo'burg and they carry a line of cheap clothes.

Corner Dubu And Tladi Street
Port Elizabeth 6001

It might be easier to ask the locals.

Meraai is a local. (the choice of name is a giveaway)

Don't be surprised if another mystery poster comes along and "advertises" a cheap source of children's swimwear in Port Elizabeth. ;-)

If you really can't find anything, could the kids swim in shorts and a t-shirt?

Thank goodness you are paying attention Gerald. I thought it was a mighty strange request when it would be easier to look in the yellow pages or ask someone there. What does the handle mean?

Aw crap - sucked in again!! Spammer, BE GONE! Gerald, did you report it?

Gatiep and Meraai are the butt of Afrikaans jokes about a Coloured couple from the Cape Town area, akin to hillbillys. They live a hard life, but are known to be very witty. The accent they speak is unique.

They must have parallels in other (English) joke cultures, but I can't think of any of them now....

Ah...........thanks Gerald.

Travel Tips for Port Elizabeth

LEGACY OF THE PAST.

by PEE-WEE

In contrast to the Western Cape, the Eastern Cape is a largely undeveloped province that is often passed over by tourists. Part of the reason for this is the historical legacy of the region, which has seen it carved into black and white areas in a more consolidated manner than elsewhere in the country. The Eastern Cape has thus developed an excessively political culture. The region played a pivotal role in the struggle against Apartheid with many key figures in the freedom movement hailing from the region. Nelson Mandela and Steve Biko both originate from this region.

Humewood Golf Course

by rcsparty

For any golfer visiting PE, you must find a way to play at Humewood. The views of the ocean and the holes through the jungle are amazing. Although, they can also be somewhat distracting. Even for the non-golfer, the views and the wildlife are worth at least lunch at the clubhouse. It is tough to recover on the course from a swing thought of...'wow, there are monkeys on the green'.

The Algoa FM Lifestyle Expo & Airshow event

by PEE-WEE

The fifth LIFESTYLE LIVING EXPO will be held for the first time in conjunction with the AIRSHOW at the Algoa Flying Club, Port Elizabeth Airport.
