Estate Guesthouse: Really clean and attractive guesthouse

I had a good time with warm welcome ...the people there are really helpful... Food was fantastic and the price we paid included breakfast. The lady at guesthouse house took us to Durban next day and she didn't charge us because she said she was going that direction anyway, She also picked us up in the evening.I forgot her name but She is a very nice lady. I recommend De charmoy Estate guesthouse for People looking for a piece of mind and comfortable stay around Durban.

It is just 5 minutes drive from King Shaka Intl Airport... So you never worry about missing your flight or arriving late at night in Durban.

Unique Quality: The is a quite amazing pool, jacuzzi and a small unique garden resturant...quite peaceful.

Club Sea and Surf: Lovely Apartment with Ocean View

I enjoyed my stay here at Club Sun and Surf. The apartment is in a safe and secure complex and in a really great area. The Apartment I stayed had a nice sea view and is self catering. The apartment was a 1 bedroom apartment with a very nice Bedroom , Nice Bathroom which included a shower ,toilet and wash basin. The lounge area was quite nice and it has a small kitcken equiped with a electric frying pan , kettle ,toaster , fridge and so on.

There is a pool at the end of the complex with lovely sea views from there.

Chelsea Villa Guesthouse

We stayed in a very nice place called Chelsea Villa Guesthouse. The place was nice and clean as well as very peaceful. Important was that we had a safe place where to park our car and in the evening we could just walk couple of minutes up the hill to an area with few nice restaurants and bars.
I should also mention Neville, the very friendly owner as well as the friendly staff.

Beverly Hills Hotel Southern Sun Hotels: The best hotel in the world

Superb accomodation, great bar, wonderful breakfast, amazing winelist, dinner rather pricy and not the best - the restaurant staff thought that the sorbet was a dessert and gave us huge bowls of it , in great surprise when we ordered it between our starter and main.

Unique Quality: Free ice-creams, ice cold flannels and fruit kebabs delivered around the pool.

GOBLE PALMS: Great Alternative to those on VT List!

This venerable old house is a nice alternative to the big hotels of the CBD and the Golden Mile of Durban. Rooms are large with great breakfasts that you can eat out on a big verandah overlooking the morning sun coming up over the Indian Ocean. A pool, small in-house pub and a pair of Staffordshire terriers complete the deal. Exceptionally good location if you are into rugby since ABSA Stadium, the home of the Natal Sharks of the Super 14 League (New Zealand/Australia/South Africa) is just down the hill. ‘Contemporary colonial comfort’ is what your hosts shoot for and achieve.

El Palma: Great Guesthouse

As much as I love Durban the beachfront has become crazy and a bit unsafe at night.
We chose this guesthouse in Amamzimtoti. Toti is a stone throw away from Durban and much quieter. There is forever noise if you stay at the beachfront hotel. So if you want a good night's sleep stay away from the beachfront hotels.

Unique Quality: Luxury, luxury, luxury at a good price. Big kingsize bed. We booked a bit late so had to share with the kids. More than enough space. Private bathroom with shower. The rooms are outisde the house so it is more private. Dstv, pool, safe inside the rooms, fridge and limited cooking facilities. Small things to make your stay nice like all soaps, shoe polish, eno's etc provided. Friendly, helpful hosts.

City Lodge Umhlanga Ridge: Situated Next to a Shopping Spectacular

I had a lovely stay here , the reason being is that you in the centre of where everything is happening.

Unique Quality: Ideally situated next to the upmarket Gateway shopping and entertainment complex, City Lodge Umhlanga Ridge blends into the surroundings of its modern environment. Durban is just minutes away on the adjacent freeway, as is the city’s
international airport. The five-storey hotel is in the heart of the new business district that has emerged in the Umhlanga area. It is also a short drive from Umhlanga’s popular promenade and beach front.

Bed and Break fasts vary in...

Bed and Break fasts vary in Price. Main hotels are Expensive (for locals ) but very affordable to foreign tourists.

Picture taken - Ubizane just outside Durban , near Huhluwe Nature reserve. Very Upmarket Place to stay. Not very affordable to the Locals , BUT Worth WHile. have a look at my Travelouge for more information.
Anywere between R90 - R900 per night . Covert that to US dollars , it rounds off to about R10 = 1 $
So you Avarage paying about 9 $ to 90 $ per Night.. Obviously 90 $ you going to get very luxusrious (*sic) accomidation

Unique Quality: Hot , and humid all year round. Durban is the perfect place to make a base before venturing into the Big Reserves. Like Huluwe and Umfolozi (They are one reserve now (joined)) Even Thembe Elephant park on the Boarder of SA and Mozambeque is accesable in one days drive. St Lucia (World Heratage Site ) is about 3 hours . The Drakensberg (Beatiful mountains ) is around 4 hours.
