False bayMoon rise
The plan had been to get back to our accommodation to watch the moon rise, however due to our delay in Hluhluwe we pulled over on the roadside to watch it. I couldn’t believe that I’d never seen a moon rise before my trip to South Africa, but I guess it’s because in Europe there’s either too much on the horizon blocking the view, or it’s too cloudy or that the moon rises before it goes dark – often you can see the moon full in the sky here in day light. I became obsessed with moon rises in South Africa – absolutely amazing to watch! It was, however, a very cold ride home in our open top game vehicle as the sun went down. We got back to our accommodation in time for a brai (BBQ) outside around an open fire. A perfect end to an amazing day.
