"First Visits"
My first visit to Umhlanga Rocks was back in March 1996 during a brief visit to see Johnno who played cricket locally that Summer here in England and was just wrapping things up with the Dolphins for the season.
A glorious day ended up in Cottonfields watching Liverpool vs Newcastle Utd ding dong their way to a 4-3 result.
Umhlanga was then always firmly in my mind for any return visit and, sure enough I managed to make it back there whilst staying on North Beach, Durban although again it was too briefly.
"Golf Tour 2008"
A 3 week Winter (May/June) golf tour around SAF had to include a proper stay in the Rocks and a quick browse of Portfolio Collection led to me booking into Tesorino B&B on Stanley Grace Crescent, a fortuitous choice if ever there was one!
Wonderful hospitality, great breakfasts, relaxation at the pool bar and bookings for restaurants meant that it was an ideal base from which to explore golf courses from DCC to Prince's Grant
"Golf Tour 2009"
The 2008 trip went that well that one of the party decided we'd better revisit the next June and it didn't disappoint - we even managed to take in the British Lions v Sharks game, as well as fitting in some ocean bound Dolphin & Whale watching.
Food at Ile Maurice, Olive & Oil, and Marco Paulo at Mt Edgecombe as good as ever - guess where we're going in March 2010???
