For international backpacker in the CBD
I had a good time at Ashanti Backpackers. It is a very internation environment there. The dorm rooms are within a Victorian house and everything is very colourful and friendly. It is also quite clean. They also have a great bar with a pool table. Unfortunately I was there in winter so I couldn't really enjoy the pool too much ;)

Great vibe
I had a dorm room here (with a 65 year old lady), which was really nice. The bar was great, you could get some decent food there and the people were nice. At reception, people were really helpful.

The best adress in town
There are two Ashanti lodge , the one in gardens is the perfect location for travellers.
The staff is very helpfull, they have good informations about excursions, but sometimes sell them at a higher price, maybe they are taking a good commission.
Unique Quality: The view from table mountain in the morning is incredible.
It is not far from the botanical garden.
The lodge situated in an old 19th century house is well decorated.

It Rocks!!
Ashanti Lodge is the best Hostel in Cape Town as voted by the tourist board. The accomodation was clean, friendly and lively. The big african house is home to the famous bar and it's pool competitons!! This was a wonderful place to stay and i would recommend it to anyone young and old!!

Cool Hostel
Ashanti was recommended by the guide books so I stayed there, and sure enough, I had a great time. I was there a week and no major complaints, although the front desk staff could be a bit more friendly.
Unique Quality: They have a pool, lockers, a deck w/view of table mountain, a bar, and travel desk. The bar's a good place to hang out - very lively.
Don't go wandering in the parks nearby tho... people get mugged back there.

Unique Quality: Situated at the foot of Table Mountain in the quiet suburb "Gardens" this hostel has everything to offer at a remarkably affordable price including a free airport pick up service.
Easy access to the city by taxi or a leisurely stroll down Government Avenue, through the Company's Gardens, past the Houses of Parliament.
24hr reception, Internet terminals so VT?rs can keep one another updated and a travel info desk

Unique Quality: This is the greatest place I have ever stayed. The staff is so sweet and kind.
Theres a nice pool and bar at the hostel, and also a travel agency...if you need further help, planning your next trip.
