In fact it exceeded our expectations.
Prior to arrival in Cape Town all our e-mails and questions were answered promptly and comprehensively.
The hotel even arranged a private pickup and drop off for us from the Airport by Daryl of Russol Luxury Cars and also an exellent private guided tour of the Cape Peninsula by Amber Tours which we thoroughly enjoyed.
Both these extras were kindly billed to our room by the Hotel.
Check in was a breeze with cheerful and friendly staff, all sorted in a relaxed minute or two. It was more like visiting family friends than a Hotel reception.
The room was one of fifteen in what is now called a boutique Hotel, tastefully decorated and really comfortable furnishings with lovely facilities. We knew we were in for a really relaxing stay.
The staff were a gold mine of local info and advice. Nick the owner and his team couldn't do enough to make you feel at home. A real plus was the fact that the Hotel is on the same courtyard as several lovely restaurants, we were spolied for choice all within 20 steps of the Cape Heritage door. There were 2 comfortable Lounges at the front of the Hotel, one with a roaring log fire and the other with complimentary ice cold drinks. These were great for relaxing and reading. There was also great attention to detail, fresh flowers in the room, a nightly turn down service with sweet treats on the pillows, free DVD library for a rainy afternoon and lots more. Breakfast was either an English Fry Up cooked to order or a healthy Continental served buffet style. Either one set you up for the day.
Check out was as smooth and informal as check in and just as quick.
All in all, an exellent Hotel with great staff and lovely facilities, we'll be staying there again.
The Hotel is set in one side of Heritage Square, an ambitious refurbishment project housing several restaurants lining a charming courtyard. All these establishments are thoroughly modern yet manage to keep an exterior of a bygone age.
Cape Heritage has an arrangement with the lovely restaurants in Heritage Square where guests can have their bills totalled to thir room. A great idea.
The staff make you feel like you're visiting a relatives house in the town. So frindly and helpful with everything.
The unique decor of each room was of an age gone by but all the modern conveniences were there and easily accessible ( TV / DVD player behind doors of huge wooden wardrobe ).
