Thanks a lot John, very thoughtful of you. How long do they take to register? I got all excited and then saw that mine hadn't registered yet. Anyway, I do appreciate your thought, so I gave you one back.

Travel Tips for Cape Town

Cape Point. The view is...

by Elna

Cape Point. The view is unparallelled in the world! Beware though that it can be windy (and therefore cold) so do take an anorak with you. There is also a station from where you can send e-mail greetings to your friends elsewhere together with some really great pictures. The seafood! Eating hot, freshly baked fish from Houtbay harbour ( not from the big touristy restaurant, but from a shack behind, called 'Tin Can Alley') Also loved the penguins!

South African Adaptors

by thinking

Label your bags inside and outside as they "lost' my luggage for several days, and it was returned due to correct ID and labeling. It's hot here in their summer, so bring comfortable llinen or cotton clothing, but at night you could need a sweater. Bring everything you think you might need. My temple on a pair of sunglasses came undone, and I was told they were waiting for screws and had been waiting for 2 weeks already. Bring South African Adaptors as they are unique in the world.
www.magellans.com has them, or you can purchase them here at PICK N PAY much cheaper.

The flower man

by chikidee

On our Township tour we visited this man. He's called the "flower man" because he makes flowers out of old cans. He makes all sorts of flowers and the really look good!!!
He's a very charming and friendly man!

The Victoria and Albert Wharf...

by Ramonq

The Victoria and Albert Wharf is a very popular nightspot for many Cape Towners. This is Cape Town's answer to Sydney's Darling Harbour or San Francisco's Fisherman's Wharf. Plenty of restaurants and pubs that are open late at night here and it's fairly safe to wander around here as there are many people milling about.

A trendy place in the city centre

by Alice-Kees about Lola´s Café

We came across this place while strolling down Long Street one morning. It seemed to be quite popular among both locals and tourists. We sampled one of their fruit juices outside on the pavement. The interior of the café, however, surprised us pleasantly, with bright colours and retro style furniture. Also great staff!
You can go here for breakfast (opens at 08h00 AM), lunch, dinner or just have a drink and a snack. The place stays open untill midnight.
