Give it a miss!

Do not stay at the Lion's Head Lodge; there are other, better deals in the same price range. ALL of the rooms have been smoked in, leaving the non-smokers with the distinct smell of smoke on their clothes. The staff are rude and unhelpful - the restaurant service is slow, disorganized and rude. The area is very dangerous - it's not safe to walk to the ATM or convenience store alone and you MUST take a taxi to/from the hotel each time you leave. There aren't any cool cafes/shops nearby - instead it's pawn shops and seedy bars. Unfortunately, it's located at the end of a good area - I would recommend Big Blue, Backpackers, etc before stopping here. The pool and bar all need a lick of paint and they aren't open very long. There is no traveller's lounge or hang-out area to meet other people.

Nice Hostel but no in a great area.

This was our base while were in Cape Town and since we were so busy it wasnt too bad. Its is close to some of the best beaches but is in a seedy area. I wouldnt recomend staying here. You should try one of the hostels on Long street.
