Hi
My wife and I will visit Cape Town in February.
I hear a lot about safety. I hear a lot about safety in many places too.
We are looking at a hotel on St Georges Mall.
What is this area like for safety.

St.George's Mall on Saturday afternoons and Sundays is also quite dead. But it is fairly pleasant during normal business hours. A pretty standard inner-city business district.

You would be better off staying at the Mandela-Rhodes hotel which is in St. Georges street. There are more things to do, even in the off peak times of the day eg. St. Georges Cathederal, National Museums, Houses of Parliament, The Companies Gardens, Long Street at night, wine tasting and food and wine pairing in the complex where you're staying, Green Market Square etc. You would still be in the City Centre as well
