Hi there are 2 direct flight per week to mauritius out of Cape Town (thurs and sat)- on air mauritius. Otherwise daily flights from johannesburg. the flights rae approx 5-6 hours
Most tour companies book all inclusive trips to mauritius- with hotels and trnsfers included. As road traveller said - try flysaa.com or air mauritius website and book flights only direct the flights will be approx 6ooo -7000 south african rand.
Depends when you fly and what season - high or low.
re accomm. and restaurants- what are you lookingfor budget- views- trendy- arty????

I live in Mauritius and know the island very well. Should you need any info please do not hesitate to ask me. Apart from the hotel packages there are lots of self catering accommodation. The hotel packages are good deals though depending which hotels you will choose. Flights from JHB to Mauritius is around 4.5 hours and 6 hours from Cape Town.

you would honestly be better off flying via johannesburg instead of cape town. jnb is a larger airport with more airlines servicing it! South African Airlines do a direct service JNB-MRU. Try SAA website directly.
hope this helps

Travel Tips for Cape Town
visit the Table Mountain. ...

visit the Table Mountain.
Do you know that there are over 100 ways to climb Table Mountain, which stands at 1086 meters above sea level?? However, most people (ahem! like yours truly) take the easiest way up via the revolving cable car which whisks you to the top in a just a few minutes.
The views in all directions are awesome and the feeling of being on top of the world can be very exhilerating!
No wonder the Table Mountain is Cape Town’s most visited place!
Breakwater Wall
by Airpunk
The Breakwater Wall was part of the old port’s structures in Cape Town. It is now located behind Victoria and Alfred Waterfront, still protecting the Waterfront and the remaining port structures from waves and currents. While there was once a railway line (partly still visible), there is now industrial activity today. It’s just a point from which you can enjoy a view into the Atlantic Ocean and see Robben Island in the distance – something like a little brek from tourist-spoiled Waterfront.
At Quay 6 or at Table Bay Hotel, follow the yellow boat signs towards the Heliport. On the way, you’ll find the first signs indicating the direction of the Breakwater Wall.
Authentic African salad anyone?
by mvtouring about Informal Markets
The informal markets is a great place to visit and find something special to take home. Less expensive than buying it in a shop and the quality is exactly the same. You are just buying directly from the suppliers These serving dishes makes for a lovely dish in which to serve your cous-cous salad or other african dish that you might have prepared for your guests.
