Cheap Presidential suite
Just to clear any confusion this hotel used to be called The Cape Town Holiday Inn, so any reviews on either Cape Sun or Holiday Inn CT are for the same hotel.
We booked the Presidential Suite so we could film a TV interview with the dramatic background of Table Mountain across the city. And not that I could ever afford to spend R3500/night on the Presidential Suite, but I thought the price was staggeringly cheap for what you get.
I understand there are 5 Presidents Suites all situated on the 32nd (uppermost) floor of the hotel and the lift ride up is in one of those glass lifts that runs outside the building so expect some dramatic views, or wobbly knees depending on your predisposition.
Entrance to the suite is into a small hallway with guest toilet on the right. The hall leads into a large study, lounge and dining room all open plan. Off the dining area there is a small kitchen with sink, fridge, microwave and two plate stove.
The lounge has large flat screen TV with cd/dvd/video player combo. The study area has a large solid wood desk with ports for internet connection. There is also a printer supplied with the software driver installation CD.
The bedroom (there 's only one bedroom) is fairly large also with it's own TV. Next to the bed are "do not disturb" switches, they switch on a little red light at the front door of the suite.
The ensuite bathroom is glorious with marble tiled steps leading into the jet-spa bath
Behind the bedroom there's a make-up area with full length cupboards.
Full breakfast is included in the price
Unique Quality: Dramatic views from one of the highest buildings across the city and onto Table Mountain. Some of the other Presidential Suites are sea-facing, I did not see the views from these rooms but I should imagine something pretty spectacular
