Vishoek
by jonah1
Fishoek is a small little town on False Bay and is also on the way to Simon's Town and Boulders Beach. It doesnt seem like there is much happening in this beautiful spot other than people Fishing or lying about on the beach. We spent a day relaxing there and it is nice to get away from always busy Cape Town

by CatherineReichardt
For those who don't have tickets to some or all of the games, today's Sunday Times also provides the following update on 'fan fests' (free viewing zones) around the company. Note that in addition to these 'official fan fests', there will also be other fan zones such as the MTN fan zones, for which entrance will be charged (and where facilities such as parking and food/drink outlets will be more formalised)

Cape Agulhas the REAL end of...
by cosmopolit
Cape Agulhas the REAL end of Africa!! Most people mistake Cape Point just a short drive from Cape Town for the southern most point of Africa. Heard same rubbish being told by touristguides. A glance at the atlas should clarify that once n for all. Cape Agulhas about a three-hour drive southeast of Cape Town. Follow the N2 from Cape Town to CALEDON, Drive through NAPIER and BREDASDORP, In Bredasdorp, take the road to STRUISBAAI, LAGULHAS +- 35 km, on the main road. Here, the two oceans really meet in a spectacular show of natural beauty. Therefore pic is of REAL southern most point of Africa.Visitors should take note, driving on the beaches and dunes is illegal as this is destroing the delicate seafront wildlife some of which are endangered species.
The L’Agulhas Lighthouse (tel: (028) 424 2584) and Zuidste Kaap (tel: (028) 435 6034) restaurants to dine out at the END.
There's also a guesthouse Agulhas Country Lodge if you'd like to stay there for the night after enjoying a gourmet dinner.
Theyr webaddress is included below.
Toll road
by jonah1
If driving around Cape Town from Hout Bay to Vishoek please note that the Chapmans Peak route is a toll road and traffic is allowed only from one direction each way for 15 minutes before switching around again so tip - take money and patience. The road offers spectacular views of the ocean and mountains along the way but a beautiful drive to see
Terrific African Drumming with Coke Chandelier
by jumpingnorman about Mama Afrika
Mama Afrika is a very busy restaurant in Cape Town, and well-known among tourists and locals alike, offering nice music and fulfilling that Cape experience. Thus, you have to make sure you have a reservation before going here...if you do have a guide, he or she may set you up.
After the new democracy of South Africa was established more than 10 years ago, they built this restaurant on Long Street which is at the very heart of the inner city of Cape Town.
The restaurant offers traditional African cuisine. Enjoy eating while you listen to tribal drumming and stare at its unusual 500-bottle Coca Cola chandelier.
If for anything, try to visit this restaurant just because of its history and close association with the new South African sentiments post-Apartheid.
