Will it Rain?
by glennkasner
The locals have a very accurate way of forcasting whether rain could be expected within the next few hours.
Simply look at Lions Head, that's the peak to the right of Table Mountain.
If there is a cloud obscuring the tip of Lions Head you can bet your bottom dollar that rain is well in it's way. If no cloud, leave your brolly at your hotel!

Boat Cruise
by roarksown1
My first night out in Camp's Bay, I met up with some crazy guys who turned out to be club promoters in the Mother City. They took me with them on a harbor boat cruise that was a bunch of young people going nuts partying on the water and cruising in and around the harbor. They do this kind of party at least once a month and I definitely recommend it. Dress cool. That's it.
Best sushi outside Japan?
by londonbabe about Tank
Tank is a fairly new restaurant in the Waterkant area, set inside a courtyard. Great design, with a huge fishtank in the middle of the restaurant.
The staff are extremely friendly, as we found everywhere in the Cape, and service was fast and expert.
But, all of that was secondary to the food. The sushi selection is extensive and it all sounds soooo good! But we were also seduced by the specials of the day - langoustines and slipper lobster. Simply grilled, but very very fresh and wonderfully tasty.
So, a blow-out meal - two lots of sushi, langoustine, lobster and an excellent bottle of wine - came to about 600 rand. A bargain, for those of us used to the horrendous cost of eating out in London. But you can eat here much more cheaply - a good meal should cost around 200 rand per person.
