The view from our cottage (photo Thieu) by Alain_Smeets This Holiday Village is perfect located to explore the Cape Province. Not in the city, but close enough, it's situated 45 km from Cape Town.

Auberge La Dauphine by SESM The owners of this gorgeous B and B made great use of the former wine celler -- converting the building into several 2 level rooms each named after something edible. The views from the huge top storey windows of the mountains and horse farm next door are stunning. The grounds are well landscaped and dotted with the owners easy going 7 cats and 2 dogs. Breakfast is a very pleasant affair as well. The family room we stayed in was charming -- comfortable with every amenity including heated towel racks and wine in the fridge!
The great views and the starry nights are spectacular! There's a pool but we were there at the end of winter so it wasn't in use.

The view from the pool by SESM This victorian home is located within walking distance from the main street in Franschoek. The rooms are lovely with wonderful views and there is even a small cottage available. The common areas are cozy for winter visits but the real appeal is the view outside from the back porch or the swimming pool!
The owner serves a lovely breakfast on the veranda and can help make reservations for you at the famous local restaurants. The views really are spectacular! This was simply a great place to stay. If you are ever in Graboaw you must stay here. The accommodation is made of 4 double chalets each in a studio style layout with the biggest bed that I have ever seen, sunken bath, shower, table, coach, patio area and great grounds. Breakfast is served in the main house or on the patio if weather permits. Chickens in the pics laid eggs for breakfast.
The service here is exceptional - don't leave any clothes on the bed in the morning because otherwise you will find them washed, dried, ironed and folded neatly on your return to the room.

After scouring the internet for accommodations in Cape Town, my wife found a great place for us to stay for 2 months. Panorama Residence is a self-catered apartment in Camps Bay. The owner is a very friendly and helpful woman who loves the apartment she rents out to visitors. We were able to afford it after negotiating a price since we were going to be there for so long, and part of it being during the 'low season.' It is a 10-15 minute walk from the Camps Bay beach, restaurants, and shops. Though the walk is a generous incline as you walk back to the apartment.
It has a pool, though it's not heated so really only useful during the hot summer months. From our apartment we had a perfect view of Lion's head. We also had a great view of the ocean, and even the backside of Table Mountain behind us. The best part of this apartment was the patio! The owner had just built it and expanded the inside of the apartment before we rented it. The patio is HUGE and makes the small studio apartment feel much much bigger. We would've definitely felt cooped up without that big space outside to spend time on.

by nora_south_africa Wow a very unique experience , stay in a tree house in a forest in the western cape. Near Sedgefield and Knysna

by nora_south_africa I just love the tree houses, this tree house is a bit cheaper than some of the others, some cabins have a bath with jacuzzi in, there are free roaming buck, and they have a houseboat that you can hire for the day. They can also arrange helicopter flips for you over Plett.
