Great views from Paradise
Our 6 night stay was spilt: 3 nights in the Forest Room and 3 Nights in "Paradise".
Both rooms are equipped to a very high standard.
The father and son host team (Chris the father and Mark the son) did a good job at making us welcome and in handling any questions about the local area's restaurants, attractions etc.
I was a bit disappointed that there was no wi-fi in the rooms. Mark did say that there was a problem with their network and there was no problem with me using a LAN connection in the office, but I reckon whatever the problem was it could have been fixed during the 6 day stay.
The breakfasts were nice but nothing special. The free bar was very nice, especially during the hot sunny days when a cold (and free) beer goes down very well.
Kanonkop is perched high above the town and you really do need a car, although local taxis are easily available.
A heated pool would have been nice, but I know they are not common in South Africa.
Rooms are not equipped with Air Con, but with the lofty location this is not usually a problem.
