Diversity & Growth ?
"The town of Knysna"
Knynsa is situated with easy access to a variety of milieus - beach, sea, lagoon, forest with an abundance of activities to suit all tastes - hiking, mountain biking, sailing, swimming, sunbathing etc. As such there is plenty of accommodation to choose from - from within the hub of a busy town, the marina , the beach or to a woodland retreat.
There is been much criticism for the rate at which the town is continuing to expand but it is human nature to be attracted to areas of natural beauty. Sadly it is people that tend to be the ones responsible for damage ! On a more positive note there appear to be active enviromentalists in the area that are making efforts to prevent inappropriate development.
"The unique Knysna sea horse"
There have been concerns raised about the rate of developement in the area, particularly in relation to the unique Knynsa seahorse that is found in its estuarine ecosystem.
It is listed as endangered on the IUCN’s red list as it can only be found in five areas of S.A.
"A Special Place"
Knusna will always be a special place for us - as we got married there. It was a last minute arrangement & certainally less complicated than getting married in the UK. So if anyone needs any wedding information or a recommendation for a marriage officiator/pastor then get in touch. Things worked out really well.
