OK- don't get me wrong. The hotel was not bad- just not at all what we were expecting. I had done a great job of finding boutique hotels for our honeymoon and had difficulty finding one for Knysna that would not break the bank (Pezula, the castles) or that was not sold out. So I found the Russell and thought- how bad could it be. For those of you reading this from the US, it is like a bad holiday inn. Smallish room with a simple bathroom. It was not the cleanist thing we had staying in. The front desk was nice- and they did give us champagne and a fruit basket.
Unique Quality: A new bar just opened up around the corner so it gets very noisy on the weekend. Let's just say we were awoken to a blasting of a Killer's song at 4am. And the person listened to the entire song before driving away.
