We stayed for two nights and after we checked out, we discovered that US$100 went missing in our US$400 notes. We informed the manager and they responded that their maid denied taking any money from us and that they will only compensate us if the police found the maid guilty. Not that they denied responsibility, they in fact failed to respond to us, I had to call them 4 times and each time they said they had to speak with their manager (it's a small hotel, no more than 10 working staff) and the last time I spoke with them, they said they had to speak with their HR Manager even though they had already spoken with their general manager.
Irresponsible management and disgraceful staff. They are thieves.
Do not stay.

Hello, we are a couple visiting at the University of Stellenbosch, coming with 2 adult sons. We are looking for a house to rent from mid December, 2008 till mid January, 2009. We would be very happy if the house had an access to a swimming pool and a big and equipped kitchen is a must (as one of us is a passionate cook). We are all nice, mature and responsible people. There is a very well established real-estate market in SA. I would ask one of your new colleges to recommend a rental agent - also do a web search - and they will be able to assist you. Some websites are: www.pamgolding.co.za; www.jarwitz.co.za; www.property24.com and there are many many more) A pool is not really necessary as the summers are not that hot and the water tends to be on the cooler side. The sea at Gordons bay is about 40mins away.

You will definately need aswimming pool- not sure what carteki means by summers are not that hot - january temperature is well into the 30 degree celcius and a pool is great- we all have pool and are using them now already!! Today its 30 degrees and summer is only beginning

Stellenbosch on Foot:
