IAS Compound: NGO Housing in Yei
The IAS Compound in Yai (March 2006): More space than ARC, and they made their satellite internet connection available to us, but the electricity only came on at night and for short periods throughout the day, the housing has low doors, there are hot water and basins, but no showers, and the cost was a bit more expensive than the ARC compound, at $20/25 US per night.
Unique Quality: Internet sometimes available, No Alcohol Allowed.

ARC Compound: NGO Housing in Yei
The ARC Compound (March 2006) was a great place to stay: meat every day, chicken once a week, three meals per-day with fresh bread, hot water for showers every night, and electricity a good chunk of the time. People gather around the TV most nights, and there's a large DVD collection. We had a bunch of UN personell staying with us, space is very limited, and you generally need some connections to get in, but you will be surrounded by great company every time. No internet connection for guests as of March '06. Housing was $15-20 US per night
Unique Quality: Lots of Electricity, Great Food, Great Price, Great Company
